sebelumnya PGBP pimpinan Socratez Sofyan Yoman meminta aparat keamanan
menghentikan pendekatan militer di Puncak Jaya, maka kini desakan yang
sama juga datang. Kali ini dari Presidium Dewan Papua (PDP) yang meminta
kepada Gubernur Provinsi Papua, Ketua DPR Papua dan Ketua Majelis
Rakyat Papua (MRP) selaku pemimpin sipil di tanah Papua agar segera
memanggil Kapolda Papua dan Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih, guna memberikan

Ketika Pater Yohanes Jonga menerima anugerah Yap Thiam Hien, sebuah penghargaan kepada pejuang hak asasi manusia, rasa bangga menyeruak. Pater Yohanes Jonga, yang telah bekerja di Papua sejak tahun 1986, dikenal tidak hanya dalam karyanya sebagai imam pada gereja Katolik, tapi juga dalam karyanya mendampingi dan mengadvokasi masyarakat Papua yang dilanggar hak-hak dasarnya sebagai warga negara.

Churches are encouraged to include emphases on human rights in their liturgies or orders of service. Natal PW wilayah Jayapura dilaksanakan pada 3 Desember 2009 pukul 14.00. Di Gereja Baptis Yame Heram (Expo). Natal dihadiri sekitar 200 kaum ibu,pemudi, kaum bapak dan pemuda. Ibadah ini dipimpin oleh Ev.Steve Yan Wenda,S.Th.

Sementara itu Natal Pemuda Wilayah Jayapura dilaksanakan pada 5 Desmber 2009 di Gereja Baptis Yame Heram (Expo). Uwe Damman, host pastor of the worship service at the Baptist Church in Berlin-Weissensee on November 8, described the destruction of the wall as "a miracle" that made freedom possible.
